There has been some data showing that mouth to mouth breathing might not be necessary in performing CPR for cardiac arrest. In fact, some people would argue it is LESS effective. More research is needed for a definitive answer, but it’s worth thinking about if you are in a situation where mouth to mouth might put the rescuer at possible risk (infection, etc)…
